Crumpled paper on the floor, ooh I’ll give you half my heart if you’ll give me half of yours Lay your presents by the tree, ooh Close your eyes and tell me all that you can see Christmas time is here Christmas time is here Christmas time has come Gather all your family and tell them all you’ve done Christmas time is here Raise a glass and celebrate the passing of the year Bells and holly on the door, ooh Take a picture and I’ll ask for nothing more Lay your body next to mine, ooh Smiling faces filled with laughter and with wine Christmas time is here Christmas time is here Christmas time has come Gather all your family and tell them all you’ve done Christmas time is here Raise a glass and celebrate the passing of the year Christmas time is here Christmas time is here Christmas time is here Christmas time is here

You’ve got a present for me I’ve got a present for you We may not like either one But we’ll act like we do And I’ll smile and say lots of things untrue Just wait until you see what I got you You got a hammer for me I got a hammer for you We both don’t like tools at all But we’ll act like we do And we’ll smile and think this gift’s a piece of poo But all that matters is it came from you

Winter days are old and gone Nothing left but summer sun And I’m leaving you behind The world it turned and time moved on We’re trying to find where we belong And it’s Christmas time It’s Christmas time Doo doo doo- It’s not goodbye it’s see you soon I’m going off to sing my own tune Believe me I’ll be fine And I know you’ll be waiting just in case But we’ve got to find our place And it’s Christmas time It’s Christmas time Doo doo doo- Though times may change and you’ll feel far away from me Just look inside and you’ll see I’ll be there Doo doo doo- Be there- Doo doo doo- Winter days are old and gone Nothing left but summer sun And I’m leaving you behind

I’ll tell you a tale of a dark Christmas past Ooh ooh, of a dark Christmas past Yeah that’s where they say the body was found Oh that’s where he lay, Santa dead on the ground The neighbours heard yelling out back of the bar Ooh ooh, out back of the bar With tempers a’rising, a dispute under way Between Santa and an elf over holiday pay Down on my luck, when I heard the news And now I’m stuck with the Chrissumus Blues The next thing he knew, that damn elf pulled a knife Ooh ooh, that dam elf pulled a knife Before Santa could say “elfie you’ll get your pay” He plunged in that knife, took poor Santa away The elf, he looked up with a murderous glee Ooh ooh, with a murderous glee He cackled out loud and took off down the road Aided by a bald and cantankerous toad Down on my luck, when I heard the news And now I’m stuck with the Chrissumus Blues Now no Christmas’ came for 7 long years Ooh ooh, for 7 long years And the world it filled up with carbon and fear Ooo-ooh, with that carbon and fear I suddenly realised what I had to do Ooh ooh, just what I had to do I returned to the place where that body was found And started to dig Santa up from the ground Down on my luck, when I heard the news And now I’m stuck with the Chrissumus Blues I prized of the suit from his skeletal corpse Ooh ooh, from his skeletal corpse Well that suit felt as snugly, as snugly can be And that magic od Santa’s passed straight into me The reindeer had gone, they sayRudolph went wild Ooh ooh, that Rudolph went wild So I fashioned a sleigh from some magical hay And set about hunting those deer down again Down on my luck, when I heard the news And now I’m stuck with the Chrissumus Blues This tale could keep rambling forever you see Ooh ooh, forever you see Cut a long story short I took off overseas And that old Mrs Clause took a shining to me So for 20 long years I’ve been doing this gig Ooh ooh, been doing this gig And there’s one thing I never stop telling myself Keep your mind on the job and your eye on those elves Down on my luck, when I heard the news And now I’m stuck with the Chrissumus Blues Down on my luck, when I heard the news And now I’m stuck with the Chrissumus Blues

That Tree 02:16

Gumnuts roasting on a summer’s day Brushfires nipping at the door So I say the Australian way Merry Christmas to you Ooh though we’re miles apart in truth we’re not that far, you know The sun is shining here and over there you’re white with snow So I say the Australian way Merry Christmas, to you

Look up on the shelf there, dust off the red box Untangle the tree lights and hang up your socks Lay down the tinsel, roll up your sleeves Make secret letters in the path that it weaves Hang up the bawbles, what a difference they make Put out all the presents and give them a shake The streets are all quiet, there’s no one about We’re causing a riot and fooling around There’s Liam and Jenny, Mhairi Lian Niall, Pip, Ross and Rory And Sincy and Jan David and Maria, my Nian and Tiad Izzy and Jo Jo are playing inside My Mum and Dad, smiling in the rain Everyone’s happy we’re together again The kettle is boiling, there’s nothing to fear Kass is excited, ‘cos H.H. is here He’s coming, Santa’s coming Santa’s coming to town, Santa’s coming to town Santa Clause is coming, hear the banjo strumming

Mhairi 03:10
Born in a town, sunny Adelaide Strawberry blonde, freckles on her face She came a hot September, springtime was in bloom Not that hard to see then how she’s lighting up the room We sing, Mhairi, Mhairi Lian Mhairi Lian, Mhairi Soft spoken girl, curly blonding hair Becomes a beauty, such a gracious air Ive watched here growing older and there’s one thing I can say It’s that I’m proud to be her brother And she’s 21 today So we sing, Mhairi, Mhairi Lian Mhairi Lian, Mhairi We sing, Mhairi, Mhairi Lian Mhairi Lian, Mhairi

about

In 2009 I had little disposable income to buy Christmas presents for my family & friends, so instead I created this novelty Christmas CD and gifted them to people over the festive period.
Little did I know that everyone would love them and expect another one the next year, and the year after...
And so a christmas tradition was born.
This album was its inception. Full of sentimental indulgences and heavily influenced homages, it was never intended for public consumption, but here you go.
